Earlier in the trends this morning, Atishi was trailing behind, according to the Election Commission. Later in the day, however, the AAP leader staked her claim on the constituency considered key in the national capital.
In the run-up to the Delhi Assembly Elections, Atishi and Bidhuri had been emboiled in a continued string of controversies, with each pinning blames on the other.
Atishi, one of Arvind Kejriwal’s most trusted political allies, has played a pivotal role in the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) since its inception. Known for her resilience and leadership, she has shouldered several key responsibilities, including the post of Chief Minister.
Notably, she stepped up to manage these crucial portfolios when top AAP leaders, including Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia, were incarcerated in the excise scam case.
