Veteran comedian Atul Parchure, known for his roles in The Kapil Sharma Show, died on October 14 at 57. He had been fighting cancer for several years. Parchure was widely recognized for his comic timing. He appeared in several television shows, including RK Laxman Ki Duniya, Jaago Mohan Pyaare, Yam Hain Hum, and Badi Doooor Se Aaye Hain, along with Marathi serials. His presence was notable in both television and films, where he integrated humor into relatable characters.
In an interview with Bombay Times in July, Parchure spoke about his cancer diagnosis. “I was mentally prepared that something was wrong with me,” he stated. He acknowledged that despite staying positive, not being able to work led to «sleepless nights.» He said, “It's not like negative thoughts didn’t cross my mind. I had many sleepless nights worrying about when I would resume work. On one hand, the income stopped, while the expenses began, and the costs for cancer treatment are enormous.”
He highlighted the importance of Mediclaim, saying, “Mediclaim partly saved me, along with my savings; otherwise, it would have been very difficult. I never felt dejected because my family never treated me like a patient.”
Parchure's contributions to comedy in television and films have left a lasting impact. He will be remembered for his significant roles and humor.
