Supriya Sule, NCP leader Ajit Pawar on Friday said that just by giving speeches and winning awards as the best parliamentarian does not get the job done in politics.
Ajit took on Sule saying she has not done any work in her constituency while alluding that she has lost touch with her constituency. «We can't just elect people in Parliament who don't do any work; just giving speeches in Parliament does not solve issues. If I don't come here (Baramati) and just give a speech in Mumbai and get the award for the best parliamentarian and don't oversee the work here, then would the work be done here,» asked Ajit Pawar.
While Ajit did not name Sule by name, the indirect attack was aimed at Sule as the latter has been awarded 'the best Parliamentarian award' several times.
Taking on Sule, Ajit said that the people should take his word when he says that a candidate from his group would do more work than Sule ever could. «More development projects would be executed in this region by our new MP (Ajit camp) than the one who was getting elected here earlier. This is Ajit Pawar's word,» he added.
Responsing to Sule's remarks that she never faced allegations of corruption, Ajit said, «Some say we don't have any corruption allegation, but you never were a minister, so how can you be accused of corruption, the one who does the work faces allegations, not the one who does not… If any work was done, then we would have seen it in the last 15 years,» said Ajit Pawar alluding to Sule's 15-year term as an MP.
