Bangladesh ISKCON priest Chinmoy Krishna Das arrested amid protests against Hindu atrocities

The arrest was confirmed by Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s Detective Branch spokesperson Talebur Rahman, though no details of the charges have been disclosed, as reported by TOI.

Chinmoy Krishna Das, a key figure advocating for Hindu rights, was apprehended at Dhaka airport before his scheduled flight to Chattogram. He was later taken to a local police station for questioning.
Allegations of Flag Disrespect and Sedition
The reasons behind the monk’s detention remain unclear. However, media reports suggest that he faces allegations of disrespecting the Bangladeshi national flag during a rally in Chattogram in October. Following the rally, a sedition case was filed against him and 17 others. The case reportedly centres on the hoisting of a saffron flag, an act authorities have deemed provocative.
