According to reports, two dozen H200-based Supermicro servers with hundreds of H200 GPUs inside, were smuggled into China by a businessman, who is claiming that this was a unique way bypassing Department of Commerce's laws that banned such exports.

A Tom's Hardware report has said that as many as 25 Supermicro servers, each with eight Nvidia H200 GPUs, amounting to 200 Hopper GPUs, have been smuggled from the US into China, by the businessman, which may not be enough to train any large-scale language model, but can still be used to initiate some researches and small-time development in Chinese institutions, or even for some startups who may be interest in utilizing the technology.
