Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC), who is competing for the position of ranking member on the House Oversight Committee is eventually facing a significant opposition from former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi who is backing her opponent named Gerry Connolly, reported Express US.
According to Express US, in spite of not being the House Speaker anymore, the influence of Nancy Pelosi within the Democratic Party still remains pretty strong while she has reportedly convinced US President Joe Biden to withdraw from the US Presidential race following a poor debate performance.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez who is 35 years old is representing a younger and progressive faction of the party and has gained traction among her colleagues, asserted Express US. On the other hand, Gerry Connolly who is aged 74 is currently battling with esophagus cancer but still remains optimistic about his health.
