Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor-starrer 'Bawaal' sparked an outrage on Twitter after the trailer landed on Sunday following a reference to Adolf Hitler in one of the scenes. After the trailer was unveiled many questioned the connection between a love story and the reference to Hitler and World War II.Similar concerns were previously raised after the release of the film's teaser earlier last week.Nitesh Tiwari's directorial revolves around two star-crossed lovers. Dhawan steps into the shoes of Ajay Dixit, a history teacher from the suburbs who gets hitched to Nisha ( Kapoor). The couple then goes for a vacation in Europe, exploring cities like Paris that played a significant role in World War II. The historical event is used as a recurring reference in the trailer, with the characters referring to a «war within.» Ajay’s statement “We all too are like Hitler, aren’t we? We aren’t satisfied with what we have. We want what others have,” hit a wrong note with Twitterati, with many objecting to the “normalisation of Hitler”.
