Nicole Eggert, renowned for her roles in Baywatch and 80s sitcom Charles In Charge, has disclosed that she is facing breast cancer at the age of 51.
The actress revealed to People Magazine that she received a diagnosis of stage 2 cribriform carcinoma breast cancer in early December, describing the journey to diagnosis as «rough.» Despite the challenges, Eggert relies on inspirational quotes to navigate through this difficult time.
While awaiting surgery, Eggert is in the process of determining the extent of the cancer and when chemotherapy and radiation treatments will commence.
In an effort to support her during this challenging period, a friend of Eggert has initiated a GoFundMe page, recognizing that it has been a considerable duration since her prominent roles in Charles In Charge and Baywatch. The fundraising page emphasizes the financial struggles Eggert faces as a single mom, particularly in providing for her two daughters. The friend wrote, «She's lost both her parents and doesn't have any family to lean on or help her with this situation.»
Eggert expressed her primary concern for her daughters, Dilyn, 25, and 12-year-old Keegan. Being a single caregiver to her youngest daughter, she fears not being able to afford the necessary treatments and surgery while also maintaining a stable home for them.
Despite the emotional challenges, Eggert is determined to overcome the diagnosis, emphasizing her commitment to getting through this ordeal for the sake of her daughters. She recounted the impact on her youngest daughter, realizing the importance of facing the situation head-on: «This is something I have to beat. She needs me more than anything and anybody.»
