Bengaluru CEO Suchana Seth Case: Goa police plan to revisit the service apartment where Suchana Seth, the CEO of an artificial intelligence start-up, stayed. Seth is accused of killing her four-year-old child.
The recreation of the crime scene, set to take place on Friday, is a crucial part of the ongoing investigation, aiming to gather more insights into the case.
Details of the incident
Suchana Seth, aged 39 and heading an AI start-up, checked into an apartment in Candolim, Goa, from January 6 to January 8. Allegedly, she killed her son in the apartment, placed the body in a bag, and took it to neighbouring Karnataka in a taxi on Monday.
She was arrested from Chitradurga, Karnataka, on Monday night and brought back to Goa on Tuesday.
Investigation
Currently in police custody for six days, Suchana Seth has disclosed details about her troubled marriage during interrogation. However, officials are yet to determine the motive behind the murder.
The recreation of the crime scene is considered a crucial step in the ongoing investigation to understand the circumstances better.
Post-mortem results
Post-mortem results revealed that the four-year-old child was smothered to death, either with a piece of cloth or a pillow, according to officials. The child's father, Venkat Raman, cremated the body in Bengaluru on Wednesday.
New developments
In a recent update, the Goa police found two empty bottles of cough syrup in the apartment, suggesting a possible premeditated murder where a heavy dose of the medicine might have been administered to the child.
