Bengaluru’s Yellow Metro line opening delayed to May; Govt also announces new deadline for Namma Metro Pink Line
Namma Metro Yellow Line to Ease Traffic Congestion
Spanning 19.1 km with 16 stations, the Yellow Line is expected to improve connectivity between southern Bengaluru and Electronics City. The new corridor aims to benefit IT professionals and daily commuters while helping reduce congestion at Central Silk Board, a key traffic bottleneck in the city.
Namma Metro Pink Line to Open in Phases
Shivakumar also provided updates on the Pink Line, which runs from Kalena Agrahara (Gottigere) to Nagawara. The project will be completed in phases:
The 7.5 km elevated section from Kalena Agrahara to Tavarekere is expected to be ready by December 2025.
The 13.7 km underground section from Dairy Circle to Nagawara is expected to be completed by December 2026.
