Tokyo Ghoul fans may rejoice as Ken Kaneki becomes the latest Killer to join Dead by Daylight on the PS5 and PS4. Tokyo Ghoul chronicles Kaneki's metamorphosis into a half-Ghoul, following a life-saving organ donation, set in a world where humans and Ghouls cohabit. Dead by Daylight recasts his persona in a more sinister and threatening light as he battles to embrace his evil side.

Kaneki’s transformation into a ruthless predator

After suffering cruel torture at the hands of Jason, the vicious Ghoul, Kaneki's mind snaps in this version of the tale. He makes it through the trauma, but he is dragged straight into the entity's realm, where his humanity is replaced by an unquenchable need for cruelty. Once employed for self-defense, his Kagune skills now turn him into a fearsome predator who terrorises survivors by releasing lethal tentacles.

The makers intentionally chose to turn Kaneki into a killer instead of a survivor. This alternate version examines the terror of fully embracing his Ghoul impulses, whereas the original version focuses on his struggle to save his humanity.
