West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Saturday claimed that while the opposition alliance had not yet staked a claim to form the government, it remained a possibility in the future.
Addressing the reporters after the meeting with TMC MPs and senior leaders, Banerjee outlined her party’s strategy of adopting a ‘wait and watch’ approach, expressing her dissatisfaction with the current BJP-led NDA government, which she described as ‘weak and unstable.’

In her remarks, Banerjee hinted at the potential for political shifts in the near future, signaling a readiness within the opposition ranks to assert themselves on the national stage. “The BJP is forming the government undemocratically and illegally. Today, the INDIA bloc may not have staked a claim to form the government, but that doesn’t mean they won’t tomorrow. Let’s wait for some time,” she said, as PTI reported.
TMC leader showed confidence that the INDIA bloc would come to power in the near future but urged caution, advising observers to monitor their governance of the current BJP-led government until that transition occurs.

A day after the Lok Sabha election results were announced, the INDIA bloc convened a meeting in New Delhi, where they stated their intention to take ‘appropriate steps at the appropriate time’ to fulfill the public’s desire to move away from BJP rule.
Despite the Trinamool Congress’s exit from the INDIA bloc in West Bengal in January, they affirmed their continued participation in the national opposition alliance.
