Omar Abdullah on Monday said that the landslide victory of National Conference and Congress in Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council elections in Kargil has scared BJP pushing the assembly elections in J&K further away.
The NC leader claimed that the BJP is hiding behind the Election Commission of India and the independent body unfortunately is also dancing to the tunes of the ruling party.

The NC leader stated that until now the central government in the Supreme Court had stated that preparations for panchayat and ULB elections were going on. “However, after a recent meeting with the Home Minister, they don't have the courage even to conduct those elections.
If it was possible they would not even conduct parliament elections but that is a necessity for them.” The last assembly elections in J&K were held in 2014, when the PDP-BJP formed a coalition government here. In June 2018, the BJP withdrew support from the government headed by Mehbooba Mufti.
