upcoming assembly elections in Rajasthan.
BJP National Vice-President and former Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Vasundhara Raje will contest from Jhalarpatan, former state BJP president Satish Punia has been fielded from Amber; Rajendra Rathod will contest from Taranagar and Jyoti Mirdha will fight from Nagaur.
The party also decided to field Narpat Singh Rajvi from Chittorgarh after its earlier decision to deny the five-term MLA, who is the son-in-law of its stalwart leader Bhairon Singh Shekhawat, renomination from his Vidhyadhar Nagar seat. This triggered a backlash from a section of party workers.
The names also include Vishwaraj Singh Mewar, a descendent of Maharana Pratap Singh, who joined the party recently.
He has been fielded from Nathdwara, which was won by veteran Congress leader C P Joshi in 2018.
The list also included the name of Rajendra Rathore, who leads the party in the assembly. With this second list, the BJP has now officially declared 124 candidates for the upcoming November 25 elections to the 200-member assembly.
The party released its initial list of 41 candidates earlier this month.
