BJP's deep-rooted organisation in Madhya Pradesh, the welfare schemes for women by chief minister Shivraj Chouhan, popularly known as Mamaji, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi's image have worked in the party's favour.
The BJP got nearly 49% votes, the highest it secured in the last two decades and the party won 48 of the 79 seats which it had marked as weak, for itself.
Besides the Laadli Behna scheme, the fact that the BJP deployed its MPs, including Union ministers from every region of Madhya Pradesh to contest the assembly polls, has worked in its favour.
In Mahakaushal region, Congress CM candidate Kamal Nath's region, BJP won 24 of the 38 seats, 11 more than the previous time and restricted the Congress to just 13.
