BPCL on Friday reported a standalone net profit of Rs 2,397 crore for the second quarter ended September 2024. This is a fall of 72% from Rs 8501 crore reported in the previous year quarter.
Revenue from operations rose by marginal 1% to Rs 1.17 lakh crore in the reporting period as against Rs 1.16 lakh crore in the corresponding period of the previous year.
The bottom line missed the Street estimates as an ET Now poll expected the PAT to come around Rs 3,687 crore.
On a sequential basis, net profit declined 20% from Rs 3,015 crore posted in the preceding June quarter. Revenues, meanwhile, declined 8% QoQ.
Total expenses during the September quarter increased 9% year-on-year (YoY) to Rs 1.15 lakh crore, compared with Rs 1.06 lakh crore in the year-ago period.
