As many as 14 people, including passengers and crew, lost their lives in a devastating plane crash that occurred in Barcelos, Brazil, on Saturday. The ill-fated aircraft, a Bandeirante model, was carrying a total of 12 tourists, accompanied by the pilot and co-pilot, as confirmed by Civil Defence authorities. The crash unfolded during the plane’s attempt to land in Barcelos, a city situated approximately 400 km away from the state capital, Manaus, where its journey had originated. According to CNN Brasil, the incident transpired around 3:00 pm local time.

The Center for Research and Prevention of Aeronautical Accidents (Cenipa) swiftly initiated an investigation, calling upon the expertise of investigators from the Seventh Regional Service for Investigation and Prevention of Aeronautical Accidents (Seripa VII), a regional branch of Cenipa.
