Cameron Diaz is back in a Netflix spy comedy titled Back in Action. Reuniting with co-star Jamie Foxx, Diaz returns to the screen in a high-stakes thriller about a CIA couple on a new mission.
Cameron Diaz has returned to acting after an 11-year retirement. Her last role was in the 2014 film Annie. After stepping away from acting, Diaz dedicated herself to family and business ventures, including her wine brand, Avaline. With Back in Action, she joins Jamie Foxx, her former Annie co-star, in a Netflix comedy.

The movie follows a former CIA agent couple, Emily and Matt, portrayed by Diaz and Foxx, who are pulled back into the field. They are living a quiet life in the suburbs until their cover is compromised. Forced out of retirement, they embark on a high-stakes mission. The trailer showcases action scenes, such as Foxx’s character using a flamethrower and a mid-air escape from a falling plane.
In addition to Diaz and Foxx, Back in Action features a notable supporting cast, including Kyle Chandler, Glenn Close, Andrew Scott, Jamie Demetriou, McKenna Roberts and Rylan Jackson. Seth Gordon, known for Horrible Bosses and Baywatch, directed the film. Gordon also co-wrote the screenplay with Brendan O’Brien, one of the writers behind Neighbors.
