Quebec provincial police (SQ) is investigating the death of a man who was found near a burning vehicle in Berthierville on Saturday morning. The incident occurred in the Lanaudiere region of the province. As the incident of the vehicle fire at 5 a.m. was reported, emergency services were called to Vaudreuil Street. SQ spokesperson Camille Savoie said, «Not far from the scene, an unconscious person was found. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead on the spot.”
She said further that the investigators from the Surete du Quebec's Major Crime Investigation Division will be on site today and they would be assisted by two fire scene technicians.
She added that at this point in time, all hypotheses are being considered. She also said that the investigators will help establish the causes and circumstances surrounding this event.
Berthierville is located near Sorel-Tracy. It is about 90 kilometers northeast of Montreal.
