At least 10 people, including hotel staff and customers, were injured after an explosion at the city’s popular eatery Rameshwaram Cafe on Friday. CCTV footage has emerged that allegedly shows the suspect carrying a handbag that allegedly had the bomb.

Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara on Saturday said the police are conducting in-depth investigation into the bomb blast at the Rameshwaram Cafe and are looking into all angles.
Parameshwara stated that certain details have been gleaned from CCTV recordings, noting the presence of route number 26 buses in the area at the time of the incident. There is indication suggesting the suspect may have arrived via bus. Consequently, the authorities have commenced verification procedures specifically targeting route number 26 buses at the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC).
Addressing reporters here, he said, “on the basis of the theory of elimination”, more buses are being verified for footage, as BMTC buses have cameras.
On Friday, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar, who visited the spot, said that the explosion was a low intensity blast and a timer was fixed.
“The blast occurred at 1 pm. It happened at Rameshwaram Cafe. A young man of about 28-30 years came to the cafe, purchased Rava Idli at the counter, placed the bag near a tree (adjacent to the cafe) and left. After one hour the blast occurred,” Shivakumar said.
