According to CBI, she paid income tax of ₹1.53 crore on income of ₹3.42 crore received by the family-held trusts which owned a south Mumbai flat after the probe agency started a preliminary inquiry against Kochhar and her husband Deepak. Former MD & CEO of ICICI bank, Chanda Kochar is currently under a CBI investigation over allegations of conspiring to sanction or get sanctioned credit facilities in favour of companies of Videocon Group.
Earlier in April, The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) filed its first chargesheet against Chanda Kochhar, her businessman husband, Deepak Kochhar, and Videocon group founder VN Dhoot, in a loan fraud case.
