CBS announced the conclusion of its daytime talk show, The Talk, after 15 successful seasons. The show’s final episode will air on December 20, 2024.
The final week of The Talk will begin on December 16. Current hosts Akbar Gbajabiamila, Amanda Kloots, Natalie Morales, Jerry O’Connell and Sheryl Underwood will host the episodes. CBS has stated that the week will feature guest appearances and holiday-themed giveaways. The network has not confirmed whether any former hosts, including the show’s creator Sara Gilbert, will return for the finale.

The Talk debuted on October 18, 2010. It was CBS’s response to ABC’s The View. Over the years, the show transitioned into a co-ed panel discussing trending topics, entertainment and current events. The show has won 14 Daytime Emmy Awards, including recognition for its writing and hosting. It also received accolades, such as the People’s Choice Award and the NAACP Image Award.
CBS announced in April 2024 that the 15th season of The Talk would be its last. The decision was influenced by the show’s production costs and modest ratings. CBS’s plan to launch a new daytime soap opera, Beyond the Gates, also contributed to this move. The new program will premiere on February 24, 2024, replacing The Talk’s timeslot. CBS has not clarified if reruns of The Talk will air before the new show begins.
