Infibeam Avenues, has launched a mobile-based QR code payment solution in the United Arab Emirates.
The company, which runs the payment gateway brand named CCAvenue.ae (the UAE web domain) intends to tap the growing offline payments landscape in the Emirate with the product. It is the company’s first such offline payments solution for the international market.
CCAvenue.ae has processed an aggregate of AED 24.5 billion in transactions, settling approximately 23.5 million transactions to date. This fiscal year, in August, it processed over AED 1 billion in transactions.
“For the first time, we are foraying into the offline payment space in the UAE market with our innovative QR-Code payment offerings for merchants,” said Arun Jeevaraj, vice president, Business & Operations, UAE & Saudi Arabia, CCAvenue.ae. He added that the company has onboarded multiple merchants in the last few months, including Prime Association Management, a major homeowners’ association, and Jaffer Bhai’s The Biryani King of Bombay, which operates in Dubai.
In the UAE market, the company serves over 5,000 entities, including Burj Khalifa, Emaar, Damac, Nakheel, and Trump Golf Dubai, among others.
The company started offering its online payment solutions primarily through its payment gateway brand, CCAvenue.ae. Infibeam Avenues has also solidified its presence in key global markets such as the US, Australia, and the North Africa region.
