Many of these promoters told ET on the condition of anonymity that India is important as a growth market, but many countries outside offer ease of living. Having a professionally run business has helped promoters and their next generation focus on growing their operations and wealth, experts say.
Promoters are also venturing out to diversify their investment portfolios and access international markets, which may offer distinct sectors, industries, and growth prospects. Relocation experts say Dubai and Singapore are the most sought-after due to proximity and tax and regulatory efficiency.
«This issue embodies two distinct trends. One is the fact that many promoter-owned companies are bringing in professionals to help manage the business. This helps the promoters and the next generation of these companies focus on the strategic aspects of growing and managing the company. So, in this spirit, the other trend is that we see the next generations keen to relocate overseas,» said Rishabh Shroff, partner and co-head of private client practice at law firm Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas.
