Sidhu Moosewala's parents were blessed with their second son, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has sought a report from the Government of Punjab regarding the IVF treatment of Sidhu Moosewala’s mother, Charan Kaur, asking the state government to submit a report to the department.
The development comes after Balkaur Singh, the father of late Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala accused the Punjab government of harassing him over the birth of his second son. The two had opted for In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF) technique.
Health Ministry's order:
Union Health Ministry wrote to the Punjab government on March 14 and sought a report regarding the IVF treatment of Charan Kaur while citing a media report, reported news agency PTI.
In the letter that under section 21 (g) (i) of the Assisted Reproductive Technology (Regulation) Act, 2021, the age limit prescribed for a woman going under ART services is between 21-50 years, PTI reported quoting its sources. The birth was flagged by the Centre due to the age of Moosewala's parents. Moosewala's father is aged around 60 and his mother Charan Kaur is 58 years old.
'Administration harassing me'
