Chicago Cubs on Monday announced replacement of manager David Ross with Craig Counsell.
The team confirmed the news in a statement, expressing gratitude for Ross's contributions as both a player and a manager.
Cubs President of Baseball Operations Jed Hoyer thanked Ross for his leadership and acknowledged his lasting impact on the organization, citing his integral role in the 2016 World Series victory.

Counsell, previously associated with the Milwaukee Brewers in the NL Central, brings a wealth of experience to the position.
Before joining the Cubs, he had also been considered for managerial roles with the New York Mets and Cleveland Guardians.
During his nine-year tenure with the Brewers, Counsell led the team to three NL Central titles and secured five postseason appearances in the last six years, including a division-winning record in 2023.
