Asante, who began at the firm in March, will be joined in managing the fund by former Stewart team members Chris Grey, Joanna Kay, Tom Prew and Dominic St George.
Chikara rebranded from Coupland Cardiff AM in August, following the retirement of founders Richard Cardiff and Angus Coupland at the end of last year.
The Chikara Global Emerging Markets Opportunities fund will aim to invest in firms that have strong governance and balance sheets but are not overvalued.

The fund will be index agnostic and have a typical active share of over 95%, holding between 20-35 stocks, the firm said.
It pointed to the «proven investment philosophy» developed by Asante during his time as lead Emerging Markets Fund Manager at Axa Framlington, who then developed at his time at Stewart.
