There was “no greater feeling” than being able to help those in need, including people he had never met, said the CJI.
Leading a ceremonial bench to mark the occasion, Justice Chandrachud shared his gratitude for the opportunity to serve the nation, a journey that began from his early days as a law student to his tenure at the highest court of the land.
The farewell session was attended by a host of prominent figures, including CJI-designate Justice Sanjiv Khanna, Justices J.B. Pardiwala and Manoj Misra, as well as leading bar members such as Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) President Kapil Sibal.
Justice Chandrachud recounted his journey from the backbench of the courtroom as a young law student to the pinnacle of the judiciary.
