Congress party chief, Mallikarjun Kharge, asserted on Saturday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's efforts will not deter the Congress from retaining its government in Rajasthan. Kharge also criticized the BJP for favoring the wealthy at the expense of the poor.
Speaking at a public meeting in Bharatpur district's Weir, Kharge confidently stated, «Prime Minister Narendra Modi can try as much as he wants, the Congress will retain its government in Rajasthan.» The upcoming assembly polls in Rajasthan are scheduled for November 25, with vote counting set for December 3.
During the rally, Kharge accused the BJP of working solely for the benefit of its «friends.» He claimed that the BJP's policies aimed at increasing the wealth disparity between the rich and the poor.
«They always work to benefit their friends,» he remarked. In contrast, Kharge argued that the Congress prioritizes the welfare of the poor, farmers, and young people.
Referring to the criticism faced by the Congress for its social welfare initiatives, Kharge stated, «When we do something for the poor, Modi calls it freebies, whereas he waived loans of Rs 15 lakh crore for rich people.»
Kharge also took aim at the BJP-led Centre over the Agniveer scheme, which aims to recruit short-term personnel in the armed forces. He accused the Centre of attempting to mislead young people with this scheme.
«The Centre brought the Agniveer scheme to mislead youngsters. We will find a solution if the Congress forms the government at the Centre,» he affirmed.
