Narendra Modi launched a scathing attack on the Congress here on Monday, alleging that the party and its allies have lost their moorings and the organisation has outsourced its work to “urban naxals” who call the shots, from deciding slogans to policies. He said the grand old party is like a rusting iron which is fast nearing its end.
Addressing a huge rally of party workers from the booth-level up gathered here from all parts of the poll-bound state, the prime minister underscored the passage of women’s reservation Bill in Parliament, the successful hosting of G20 by India, and the launch of Chandrayaan-3 among the achievements of his government. He also asserted that when Modi promises something he delivers, thereby leaving no doubt among voters that the BJP campaign in the forthcoming elections will be centred around encashing the prime minister’s popularity.
“Congress has lost all its willpower.
We have seen for some time now that Congress leaders who are rooted to the ground have discreetly sealed their lips. Congress was first wrecked, then it went bankrupt and now it has given its contract (reins) to others. Congress today is not being run by its leaders.
It is now like a company which is outsourcing everything- from slogans to policies. The Congress reins are now with some urban naxals. They call the shots in the Congress.
Every Congress worker on the ground can feel that. Hence Congress is incessantly becoming hollow on the ground, Modi said.
