Lucknow airport, a woman and her husband found themselves in legal trouble after a confrontation with a ground staff member of Akasa Air, which resulted in a physical altercation. The couple, who arrived late for their flight, were denied boarding, which led to a fit of anger from the woman, resulting in her physically assaulting a female staff member by slapping her. The incident occurred on Sunday evening, just before QP 1525 was about to depart for Mumbai.
As a consequence of her actions, the woman and her husband were booked under non-cognizable offenses, specifically IPC sections 323, 504, and 506, based on a written complaint filed by Nimisha Sharma, a customer service associate of Akasa Air. Nimisha explained that the flight's last boarding was closed at 4.08 pm, and the couple, along with their children, arrived at 4.18 pm to request a boarding pass. Unfortunately, due to the flight doors being closed and the passengers not having web checked-in, they were declared «no-show passengers» and denied boarding in accordance with flight operation rules.
The situation escalated when the woman became aggressive and insisted on being allowed to board, claiming her children had an exam the next day. Despite Nimisha's explanation and adherence to the regulations, the woman pushed her and slapped her in frustration. Nimisha sought help, and with the assistance of CISF, the couple was handed over to the police.
