David Corenswet's debut as Clark Kent in James Gunn's DC Universe reboot, 'Superman', has been unveiled in new set photos from Ohio, drawing strong reactions from fans who praise his comic book accurate look. The anticipated film, set for a 2025 release, also features Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, with additional characters like Lois Lane and Perry White making appearances.
The recent set photos, shared by DCU_Updates, present Corenswet in a strikingly different appearance from his Superman persona. His portrayal of Clark Kent features a curly mane, a significant departure from recent versions of the character.
«Clark Kent and Superman look like two completely different people,» commented a fan.
Another said, «THE WAY DAVID CORENSWET ALREADY LOOKS LIKE THE PERFECT CLARK KENT/SUPERMAN.»
Skyler Gisondo has been cast as Jimmy Olsen, bringing Superman's best friend to life. Alongside him, characters such as Steve Lombard, played by Beck Bennett, and Cat Grant, portrayed by Mikaela Hoover, have also been spotted on set. Christopher McDonald features as Ron Troupe, another member of the Daily Planet staff. However, fans are yet to see Nicholas Hoult's Lex Luthor in costume.
'Superman', scheduled for release on July 11, 2025, comes approximately 10 months after 'Joker: Folie à Deux' featuring Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga. Other future DC films include 'Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow' and 'The Batman — Part II', both slated for release in 2026.
