David Jason has shared details about his health status, which led to the postponement of an Only Fools and Horses convention. Renowned for his portrayal of Derek «Del Boy» Trotter in the beloved BBC series, the sitcom star was initially slated to participate in the convention alongside several fellow cast members in October. However, due to Jason's need for recovery following surgery, the event has been rescheduled by three months.
Jason provided an update on his Facebook page: «I am so very sorry for the disappointment and all the inconvenience it may cause but we are having to change the date of the forthcoming Only Fools and Horses Convention. Unfortunately I have just been advised I need a new bionic body part fitted. I won’t tell you which part it is, or you will all want one!» He continued: «And don't worry it's not being supplied by Monkey Harris, it’ll be the pukka gear.» From the series' inaugural episode in 1981 to its concluding installment, a Christmas special, in 2003 – totaling 64 episodes – Jason was a prominent figure in the John Sullivan-conceived show.
While details about the lineup for the forthcoming Only Fools convention in Milton Keynes in January remain undisclosed, recent times saw Gwyneth Strong (Cassandra), Tessa Peake-Jones (Raquel), and Andy Gill (Tony Angelino) engaging in an on-stage Q&A. Gill received applause from the audience as he recreated his iconic «Cwying» scene. Simultaneously, Nicholas Lyndhurst, renowned for his portrayal of Del's brother Rodney, will take on a leading role in the upcoming Frasier reboot.
