Around 3,000 global figures from more than 130 countries will be in attendance until January 24, participating in forum discussions under the theme, ‘Collaboration for the Intelligent Age’. These discussions will focus on energy transition, digital transformation, economic growth, and geopolitical challenges, with artificial intelligence (AI) as a core subject.
In keeping with the multiple sessions centred on AI, IT major Sify Technologies has announced a $5 billion investment over the next five years to acquire graphics processing units and expand data centres. It also plans to establish AI inferencing facilities in 20 Tier-II Indian cities. In line with the summit’s ‘Industrial decarbonization as a growth strategy’ session on January 21, beverage giant AB InBev — which pledged a Rs 400 crore investment in Karnataka at Davos 2024 — has helped build more than 500 water recharge structures across India, taught sustainable farming practices to over 2,000 barley growers, and run an entrepreneurship initiative that’s resulted in 1,000 family-operated enterprises.
