Instead, like the Glastonbury music festival benefiting qualitatively from hoi polloi running after 'cooler' gatherings like Burning Man, Davos, too, has become more exclusive, less celebrity-obsessed.
So, while there are earnest discussions on vegan sushi and whether your recycled bamboo blazer is properly ironic, real business mixed with pleasure has moved to fiscal policies, AI, decarbonisation tactics, Trump as Xi with American characteristics… as part of the 'Swissh set'.
The power riff-raff have moved on to the more fashionable haunts of Valley summits and blockchain retreats, leaving Davos back to the avant-garde.
