Wipro has announced renewal of its partnership with British multinational general insurance company RSA announcing a three-year deal. It aims to help accelerate the insurer’s migration to the cloud and build a compliant, secure, and scalable IT infrastructure, Wipro said in a regulatory filing.
The deal announcement comes days after the departure of Wipro’s chief growth officer, Stephanie Trautman, who also headed the large deals team at Wipro, India’s fourth largest IT services provider and consulting company.
The three-year engagement builds on Wipro and RSA’s existing relationship, which began in 2016, the filing said without disclosing the size of the deal.
Deals or contracts valued at over $500 million to $1 billion, are important for the top tier IT services firms as they are a direct function of revenue growth, which has largely remined muted over the past few quarters across major companies in the $245 billion IT industry.
“This contract will accompany RSA on its journey over the next couple of years to modernize its infrastructure and the use of Cloud technology,” as per the statement by Wipro.
“It will also support the delivery of a range of operational services to enable a connected business environment and support RSA’s growth objectives. The resulting state-of-the-art infrastructure will optimize service delivery and enhance RSA’s customer and employee experience through automation,” it added.
