The AAP chief was presented in court for the hearing through video conferencing.
The court had on July 29 reserved its order on the Central Bureau of Investigation's plea requesting the extension of Kejriwal's judicial custody.
The Delhi High Court had upheld the Delhi CM's arrest on Monday, asking Kejriwal to approach the trial court with an appropriate plea for relief and bail. While quashing Kejriwal's bail plea, HC had observed that his arrest by the CBI was conducted with a 'justifiable reason'.
Kejriwal had approached the Delhi HC with a plea to quash the CBI proceedings against him, and a subsequent release from judicial custody. Furthermore, the Delhi CM had also challenged the trial court's order that his CBI arrest is not illegal.
Kejriwal faces arrests by two probe agencies, the Enforcement Directorate and the CBI. ED had arrested Kejriwal in March after he failed to appear after the probe agency, ignoring nine summons.
The CBI, however, arrested Kejriwal in June in a case linked to the Delhi excise policy. Both probe agencies are investigating charges related to the same scam against the AAP supremo.
On July 12, the Supreme Court granted an interim bail to the Delhi CM in a money laundering case linked to the Delhi excise policy scam.
The excise policy was scrapped in 2022 after the Delhi lieutenant governor ordered a CBI probe into alleged irregularities and corruption involving the formulation and execution of the excise policy.
