Delhi-NCR experienced significant relief from the scorching heat as heavy rainfall drenched several parts on Thursday morning. Areas such as Sarita Vihar, Munirka, and Noida were particularly affected, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issuing a yellow alert for heavy rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds reaching speeds of 20-30 km/h throughout the day.
«The intensity of rain will increase,» stated an IMD official, forecasting moderate to heavy rainfall on Friday and Saturday, with the possibility of gusty winds by Sunday, June 30.

According to the IMD's seven-day forecast, rainy conditions are expected to persist in Delhi until July 1, with temperatures hovering around 39 degrees Celsius. The agency also predicted a gradual decline in maximum temperatures over the coming days, dropping to 38 degrees on Thursday and Friday, 36 on Saturday, and 34 on Sunday.
Mahesh Palawat, vice-chairman of meteorology and climate change at Skymet, highlighted the potential arrival of the monsoon between June 28 and 30, noting historical data from previous years when monsoon currents typically reached Delhi between June 27 and 29.
