Delhi-NCR region on Wednesday evening. The India Meteorological Department sounded red alert in the for Delhi, Noida, Gurugram and Ghaziabad. It said that heavy rainfall with moderate thunderstorm and lightning would occur through the evening. The weather department also said that the region would witness winds ranging from 30-50 kmph.

«Moderate to heavy rainfall accompanied with moderate thunderstorm and lightning is very likely to occur at entire Delhi and NCR, during next 2 hours,» IMD said on X.
The rains caused water logging and traffic congestion in multiple areas across Delhi-NCR. ANI also reported that 10 flights were diverted between 7:30 pm and 8:00 pm due to the rains.
This comes amid recent incident of water logging in a coaching institute's basement that claimed the lives of three students. The MCD and Delhi government are taking measures to avoid such incidents in the future.
Educational institutions have been given guidelines to follow certain rules. The government has also said that it would issue further instructions on operations of coaching centres and institutions.
