Delhi University's Dean Students' Welfare office has rolled out the 2023-24 Financial Support Scheme (FSS) aimed at assisting students with an annual family income below Rs 8 lakh. The application window is open until January 10 at 5 pm for eligible candidates who meet the specified criteria.
This scheme extends fee waivers for full-time undergraduate/postgraduate students, categorized based on income brackets. Those with a family income up to Rs 4 lakh can avail up to 100 percent fee waiver, while those with a family income between Rs 4 and Rs 8 lakh are eligible for up to a 50 percent waiver.
The exemptions cover all fees except examination and hostel fees.
To apply, candidates must provide essential documentation, including Economically Backward Class/Other Backward Class-Non-Creamy Layer certificates, income tax returns, PAN cards, an undertaking, bonafide certificate, mark sheet, fee receipt, and bank passbook.
Certain programs, such as BTech (Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering), and five-year integrated law programs (BA LLB/BBA LLB), are ineligible due to existing fee waivers during admission.
The documentation required for the application includes a self-attested copy of EWS/OBC-NCL or annual family income certificate issued by a competent authority after March 31, 2023. Notary-issued income certificates will not be accepted.
