The heated exchange began when Hannity scrolled through a graphic listing the Trump administration’s supposed accomplishments, particularly focusing on «waste, fraud, and abuse» in the government, reported HuffPost. As the conversation shifted to the US Agency for International Development’s budget, which stands at around $40 billion, Carville quickly did the math, noting that it represents only 0.014% of the total $6 trillion federal budget.
Carville also pointed out that Trump «is responsible for more federal debt than any president in the history of the United States,” as quoted by HuffPost.
According to The Washington Post, in Trump’s first presidency term, the national debt grew by $7.8 trillion, the largest four-year increase in history.
While Hannity criticized Democrats for supporting what he called «billions spent abroad» on things like the Green New Deal and transgender issues. He also questioned why the budget balanced under Bill Clinton couldn't be replicated today, as per HuffPost.
