In a legal filing dated February 20, Ricco formally withdrew as Diddy’s counsel, citing vague but compelling reasons protected under attorney-client privilege. While the exact details remain undisclosed, Ricco's departure appears to have been a mutual decision made after discussions with Diddy’s lead attorney, Mark Agnifilo.
The motion read:
«For the reasons set forth below, this motion for withdrawal is filed so that Sean Combs may move forward with his defense and to commence jury selection and trial without any delay.»
Ricco further emphasized that “sufficient reasons” exist for his departure but refrained from elaborating, citing legal confidentiality.
