According to Daily Beast, numerous donors reported unexpected charges to their accounts in the month of January in spite of the apparent defunct status of the Democratic National Committee (DNC). Several critics have labeled this practice as ‘grifting’ while arguing that it takes severe advantage of loyal supporters who did not explicitly consent to ongoing contributions.
The Harris Victory Fund, which had raised significant funds during the US Presidential campaign, is now actually redirecting contributions to the DNC to support broader party rebuilding efforts, asserted Daily Beast.
