Dia Mirza has called upon the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board to address the pressing issue immediately.
Renowned for her vocal stance on climate change and environmental concerns, Mirza took to social media to express her distress and advocate for decisive measures. Her plea was conveyed through a post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), where she drew attention to the alarming Air Quality Index (AQI) exceeding 200.
Mirza lamented the city's persistent exposure to polluted air since the end of monsoons, cloaking the skyline in a thick smog that conceals its once-visible beauty. «The rampant waste burning, industrial emissions, over 6000 construction sites continue to flout guidelines and norms.
Despite repeated warnings and attempts to put checks in place. Breathing this toxic air affects every person, our children and elderly especially,» added the actress.
Further, she issued a call to action, expressing hope that the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (@mpcb_official) and the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (@mybmc) would intensify efforts to combat the crisis. Mirza also invoked citizens to play their part in the fight against air pollution, stating, «As citizens, we will support you, but WE must do
