The controversy started when Musk's team emailed almost all federal workers over the weekend, demanding to provide a bullet-point summary of their activities from the previous week or risk getting terminated, reported Futurism. The plan, as revealed, was to feed these responses into an AI chatbot to determine which jobs were deemed «necessary.»
DOGE's action led the White House advising federal agency heads to «ignore the public decree from Elon Musk to effectively fire employees who do not send in bullet-point summaries of their work last week,» as reported by The Washington Post.
