JD Vance's socks catches Donald Trump's attention in high stakes meeting; here's what he said and how he reacted
White House took a lighthearted turn when President Trump became distracted by JD Vance.
Why did Donald Trump get distracted during the meeting?
Ahead of St. Patrick's Day, the President and Irish Prime Minister Michael Martin held their yearly meeting at the White House yesterday, as per reports.
Martin gave Trump a bowl of shamrocks during the daylong event, and the two went to a yearly luncheon in Washington.
They also took a seat in the Oval Office and responded to questions from reporters. Trump was about to discuss inflation when his focus was drawn to something Vance was wearing. Martin and Vance were seated on either side of him, as per a report by the Daily Mail.
The vice president's shamrock-themed footwear stole the show during a meeting with Irish Prime Minister Micheál Martin, briefly derailing the conversation before shifting to trade disputes and global diplomacy.

The vice president then lifted his pants to show off his St. Patrick's Day-themed cream socks adorned with shamrocks.
»It's in honour of the Taoiseach," Vance stated, as quoted in a report by the Daily Mail.
The room erupted in laughter as Trump responded that he was unable to concentrate, and then reporters started shouting at him once more in an attempt to get the president's attention.
