According to the state officials and federal agencies, the source of the outbreak is possibly Raw Cheddar cheese by Raw Farm- a brand which was created by Raw Farm LLC of Fresno Calif. The blocks of the Raw Farm Raw Cheddar and finely ground cheese products of original flavor and cheddar including Cheddar and Jalapeño flavor were put on sale throughout the nation as told by the FDA.
As a result of the outbreak, as many as 10 patients have been admitted to the hospital with four in California, three in Colorado, two in Utah, and one in Texas. One patient has developed a medical condition called hemolytic uremic syndrome which is a type of kidney failure. As per the FDA, no deaths have been reported till now.

Diseases because of the outbreak have been reported ranging from October 18, 2023, to January 29, 2024, as per the CDC. Six out of the eight patients who were interviewed stated that they had consumed the raw cheddar cheese by the Raw Farm brand, which was found out by local and state officials and reported by the FDA.
Some cheese lots presently within shelf life have been recalled by Raw Farm because of the investigation.
