Electronic city to be named after Late Ratan Naval Tata in Assam
Tata Group and its Chairman Emeritus, Late Ratan Naval Tata, the Assam Cabinet meeting has approved the naming of the entire area covered by the Assam Semiconductor & Electronics Logistics Park (ASELP), Jagiroad Tata OSAT Center, and the proposed township with social infrastructure as Ratan Tata Electronics City (RTEC), Jagiroad.
The state government stated, “In recognition of the unparalleled contribution of the Tata Group and its Chairman Emeritus, Late Ratan Naval Tata (the first Assam Vaibhav awardee), the Cabinet has approved the naming of the entire area covered by the Assam Semiconductor & Electronics Logistics Park (ASELP), Jagiroad Tata OSAT Center, and the proposed township with social infrastructure as Ratan Tata Electronics City (RTEC), Jagiroad.”
The Cabinet has passed a resolution expressing gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his guidance and support to Assam in successfully organizing the Advantage Assam 2.0 Summit.
To promote the usage of bamboo in the construction industry, the Cabinet has approved the inclusion of Engineered Bamboo Composite Materials in the Schedule of Rates (SOR) in PWD (Building & NH). PWD has been directed to include at least 5% of bamboo-based material in the construction of new public buildings.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma recently said that Tata Group has announced plans to establish a large-scale manufacturing facility for electronics and mobile technology in the State, with an investment of Rs 30,000 crore.
