Elon Musk, who acquired Twitter last year in October, is busy making remarkable changes to the social media platform. From making Twitter Blue subscription desirable to changing the iconic logo, the world's richest man is leaving no stone unturned to transform the brand. The Tesla CEO surprised Twitter users on Friday with a new feature — a live video option.
He took to the microblogging platform to test the update with a hilarious live video. Musk could be seen smiling and laughing with his teammates who were developing the live video feature. In the video, the 52-year-old picked up his dumbbell and entertained his followers with his weight-lifting skills.
An hour later, he shared an update, claiming that the live video feature was functioning. «Live video now works reasonably well. Just tap the button that looks like a camera when you post,» he tweeted.
A day before, Musk had introduced the option to hide the blue tick on the micro-blogging platform. This feature will allow X subscribers to choose whether or not they want to display the blue check mark on their accounts, both on their profiles and posts. While the blue tick might still appear in some places, the new feature aims to provide users with more control over their account's visibility.
Twitter Blue subscribers can 'Hide your blue checkmark' via the 'Profile Customization' page in Account Settings. The blue checkmark system was originally introduced by Twitter in 2009 to verify the authenticity of accounts belonging to celebrities, politicians, companies, news organizations, and other public figures. However, Twitter Blue, launched by Musk after X's takeover of Twitter, now offers the blue verification badge to anyone who buys the subscription.
