Emma Stone, popularly known for her role in 'Poor Things,' is all set to receive the Desert Palm Achievement Award, Actress at this year’s Palm Springs International Film Fest. The film award will be held on January 4, 2024.
Further, the film awards will come to an end on January 15, 2024.
In 2016, Stone was honored with the festival's Vanguard Award, sharing the accolade with La La Land co-star Ryan Gosling and director Damien Chazelle. Meanwhile, the festival chairman, Nachhattar Singh Chandi, in a statement, said that Emma Stone maintains her impact as a significant actress in this generation, consistently delivering exceptional performances across various roles.
Singh further added that in Emma's latest movie, «Poor Things,» the actress showed tremendous performance with a burning intensity and a character bound for liberation.
Praising the actress, Singh said that there is no better-suited person for this role, and it is a huge honor to present the Desert Palm Achievement Award, Actress, to Emma Stone.
Meanwhile, previous recipients of the Desert Palm Achievement Award for Actress include a distinguished list, including famous celebs such as Jessica Chastain, Olivia Colman, Marion Cotillard, Viola Davis, Cate Blanchett, Halle Berry, Sandra Bullock, Julianne Moore, Natalie Portman, Charlize Theron, and Renée Zellweger, among others.
Apart from Emma Stones, the festival earlier this week announced that Martin Scorsese’s «Killers of the Flower Moon» will also be honored in the ceremony with this year’s Vanguard Award. Further, more honors are going to be announced in the upcoming week.
